White background.
Transparent PNG.

Remove white from a logo, illustration or product image. Preview on a dark surface, then save a transparent PNG. Your image never leaves this browser.

Up to 20 MB / 12 megapixels. Original pixel size is kept. Animated PNGs export as a still image.

Demo illustration: the enclosed white circle stays white in edge-connected mode.

Preparing the demo…

Edge-connected mode protects enclosed white areas. White parts touching the background can still disappear.

0 targets pure white. Increase gradually for off-white backgrounds; higher values can erase pale details.

Adds a partly transparent transition beyond the tolerance. At 0, removal has a hard boundary.

The preview surface is not included in the download. Inspect at 100% on dark and white surfaces before using the result.

Best for plain white backgrounds. This is color removal, not automatic subject detection; complex hair, shadows or white subjects may need a manual editor.

Keep the white you actually want

Start with edge-connected mode. It walks inward from the four image edges through neighboring near-white pixels. White enclosed by a darker outline stays intact, as the demo circle shows. Existing transparent pixels let that walk continue.

If a white hole inside a logo should also be transparent, choose All white. Compare with the original: the tool cannot tell an unwanted white background from white paint, text or a shirt.

Why a pale fringe can remain

Antialiased edges mix the subject's color with its old white background. A low tolerance may leave that mixture visible against a dark surface. Raise edge softening cautiously and inspect at 100%. Removing more white can also thin fine lines; there is no single setting that suits every image.

What is saved

A new still PNG with the same pixel dimensions and an alpha channel. Existing transparency is preserved or reduced, never made more opaque. Browser decoding and export can change color profiles, bit depth and metadata. Keep the original if those properties matter. Read the exact method or prepare a photo for printing.
